Volunteer Opportunities

You are invited to share in the joys, rewards and challenges of hospice
volunteering!

The reason people volunteer are endless. Some people volunteer because they want to give back to
their community; others volunteer because they believe in the vision and mission of hospice. And, then
there are some who volunteer for Hospice because they have been personally impacted by the warmth
of hospice care at a difficult time in their loved one’s life. We are grateful the much needed support.
We rely on volunteers as vital members of our team. Volunteer opportunities at Hospice of the Blue
Ridge are many and varied. After a free, comprehensive volunteer training you may decide on the type
of volunteering you are interested in and how much time you want to give to hospice. Some of the
services volunteers provide are:

-Companionship
-Support for the client and/or family
-Home visits/respite sitting
-Extended care and assisted living facility visits
-Assist with errands
-Meal preparation
-Bereavement support
-Office support
-Thrift Store support

Direct and clinical support volunteer requirements are:\
